Photo 4 Learn with a moviestar

Lesson in psychiatry, year 3. The pupils are watching a movie about panic anxiety. The leading actor is Mikael Nyqvist, a famous Swedish actor, who has played in a Mission Impossible film. The story is about an upper secondary school teacher, he is 30 year old and he suffers from Panic anxiety. The film describe his way back to life after beeing isolated and on sick leave. The film is touching and generate a good discussion afterwards.  A movie can create important reflections and mirror a health condition in a good way.

  1. I agree about the use of movies - sometimes they can relax people into learning without realising they are learning!

  3. Thanks for the idea! I will have this course in next semester, and will use this film. I'm also planning to take the class to a museum which shows old methods of how to treat psychiatric patients. Will be interesting.
