The students have theorethical and practical studies. The practical studies are performed in a room in the upper secondary school. Here they are learning how to check the blood pressure.
I am curious, in my school they did not give the course Medicine 2 at all, but other courses for the students to choose between. How about your schools? I thought that was an "important" course ...
Answer to Marie's question: Medicine 2 is mandatory in upper secondary school in our town, but were I work (with adults) we have it as option if they choose Acute Care (as Helén also write here above).
Interesting how different it can be! The students in Halmstad who choose acute care study the subject "Healthcare" and the course "emergency care" 200 p, and not "Medicine 2"...
At what stage in the education do they start to practice medical tasks?
ReplyDeleteIn the upper secondary school where this photo is taken I am not sure, but in the adult education they started after about five to six weeks.
ReplyDeleteOur students do it mid-fall semester first year. Then, they have also learned about the heart and circulation in the course Medicin 1.
